Note: This user guide covers iOS devices (iPhone & iPad) and Android devices running 2.4
Login On startup, the app presents login options for both consumers and agents. The benefits to logging in are mentioned below for both consumers and agents. Note: Some Multiple Listing Organizations provide apps are that are configured for Agent Login only. Consumers have the choice of 1) signing in with their Facebook credentials by tapping on the “Connect Using Facebook” or 2) Creating an Account and using their email and password. If consumers opt out of the login by tapping “Continue without Login”, they still can use the app and try it out. The benefit to consumers logging are: ability to communicate in app with an Agent, save searches, save favorites, and share listings to Facebook. Agents simply tap on the Agent Login and enter their MLS credentials. Agents should use the id/pw that they normally use to sign into their MLS. If there are any issues with login credentials, Agents should contact the MLS directly. The benefits for Agents logging in are: ability to view agent specific data, advanced search filters, in app communication, and personal branding. Agent Login and Sub-branding By logging in, Agents will automatically see their own name on the top bar, photo (if available), contact info and Multiple Listing Organization branding within the drawer navigation. When Agents share their app with clients, the client will also see the branding and contact info for that agent. A “Share App” option is featured within the drawer navigation, allowing agents to share their branded app with clients via text, email, Twitter, Facebook or *MLS Contacts (available to select ML boards). A single link is sent to clients that allows them to install the branded app to their mobile device of choice. On login, the client is immediately connected with the agent! AGENT Login showing branding CONSUMER Login showing branding Consumer Login and Manual Sub-branding If a consumer already downloaded the app and didn’t follow the one link to brand the app, the app remains unbranded. Once they choose to work with an agent, they simply contact the Agent to either get the Agent’s ID to enter within “Add My Agent” or the Agent will simply share the app via email or text. Consumers can tap on the link to brand the app to the agent. On app open it will reflect the branding of that agent. To re-brand to another agent, consumers can follow the one link to brand the app to a different agent. Consumer Login showing MANUAL branding with Agent ID Phone Interface The main view of the mobile phone (iPhone & Android) app features a top bar with a menu icon on the left to open the drawer navigation, and a magnifying glass on the right to access Search & Filter. The Android also provides a diskette icon to Save a search. Beneath the top bar, users can easily tap Map | Gallery | List to switch views. Search results are map driven and will show equivalent results on Gallery and List views. Gallery and List Views allow the user to sort on iPhone/Android. The Map Thumbnail view and Gallery view on iPad also provide sort. iPhone & Android Interface: Icons & Views iPad Interface The main view of the iPad features a top bar with a menu icon on the left to open the drawer navigation, a gallery icon to toggle to a full gallery view and a magnifying glass on the right to access Search & Filter. At the bottom of the map view, listings appear as thumbnails and coordinate with the markers shown on the map. Once tapped, a map marker or thumbnail photo will launch the listing details view. iPad Interface: Icons & Views Drawer Navigation The drawer navigation houses all the MLS function. Agents and consumers on login are provided with a select set of function.To access the function, simply tap on the item and the drawer will slide shut to provide maximum real estate. Tap the menu on the top bar to show and tap to hide or simply drag the area open/shut! Note: Each Multiple Listing Organization configures this menu differently. The function is based on permissions for Agent/Consumer and the MLS. Home Assist / Messages - In App communication feature for Agents/Consumers that are logged in. New Search/Search - Performs a new search Near Me - Performs a search in your GEO location Favorites - Brings up Agent or Consumer Favorites Saved Searches - Brings up Agent or Consumer Saved Searches (for Matrix and Fusion clients, this will also pull in those searches) My Listings - Performs a query of the signed in Agent’s listings. Directory - The Agent directory provides a searchable interface for Agents/Consumers to look up Agents and their contact info My Contacts - Provides a searchable interface for Agents to view MLS contacts. Note: Matrix clients can “Add” and “Edit” Contacts. Share App - Agent’s on login have the ability to share their sub-branded app with clients via text, email, Facebook, Twitter and MLS contact list Mortgage Calculator - Calculate Payments or Affordability. Note: You can also get to the calculator function within individual listing details. Login/Logout - Agents and consumers can tap to log in and tap to log out About - Provides version information and terms & agreements Feedback - Allows users to view the support site featuring user guide/videos & submit feedback Help - Provides help for the app Settings - Provides an On/Off Switch for Dynamic Search Modes. ON (enabled) - A fast paced search that continuously updates as you move the map around (1-50 results at a time) OFF (disabled) - A slower paced search that doesn’t automatically update when moving the map (1-350 results at a time). Home Assist for Agents and Messages for Consumers Note: Agent only and certain apps will not feature Home Assist / Messages. Home Assist allows agents to view clients that installed their app, send messages, share homes and view client favorites all within the app! Once Agent’s share their app, clients will appear within the client tab. The more the app is shared, the longer the client list. Messages allows clients to chat with their agent in app, share a listing and begin building a favorites list that Agent’s can see. Clients will only see the Messages tab illustrated below. iPhone example showing Home Assist for Agents Search Function (Using the search input field and search options/filters) To start searching, tap the magnifying glass in the upper-right of the device or from the drawer navigation tap “New Search/Search.” Users can easily see at the top of Search & Filters whether they are searching the map bounds, current location, a drawn area or enter text to populate the search input area with NEW location-based filters. Auto-complete will populate all matching results in a list, and users can simply tap to add to the top input area. Up to 5 locations within the search input may be added at a time, making searching multiple cities, counties, etc. easier than ever. All apps provide the ability to enter an address, zip code (up to 5 at a time) and MLS# (up to 5 at a time) as well. Note: Tap “Need Help?” on iOS or the help icon on Android to view the terms that your App allows for location-based auto complete filters. Filters vary by MLS and on login, Agents may have more advanced filters. Once search filters are set and saved, touch the blue “Search” on iPhone/iPad. On Android you will tap the “Search” at the bottom of the screen. A query will run and retrieve listings that match the criteria. To set the filters back to the default settings, tap on “Reset” on iOS. This won’t clear your specified location or drawn area on the map, just the filter set. On Android, tap “Reset All” and it will clear the location AND filter list. Search Function (Map Bounds)
Searching within the map bounds will return listings within the bounds of where the map is set. Zoom in or out to control the map bounds. Going to the gallery and list views will also show listings within the map bounds and keep things in sync.
Search Function (Draw Area) A search may also be performed by drawing an area on the map. Select the pencil tool (on the map) and draw a shape on the map. A query will run to retrieve listings that match the area drawn on the map. All search filters (i.e. price, bedrooms, baths, etc.) are held and can be readjusted to refine results even more. Search Function Location (Near Me/Current Location) Ensure Location Services is turned on for the app in Settings on your phone or iPad. Once turned on, the app can identify your location on the map and find homes near you. Within filters you can also adjust the search radius or zoom in or out on the map to adjust your location. To perform a search by using your current location, tap “Near Me” in the drawer navigation or select Current Location within the search input. Saving Searches Save search results by selecting the white “Save Search” at the bottom of the iPhone/iPad Search & Filter screen. On Android, tap on the gray Diskette icon in the upper right. Enter a name for the search, and this can now be accessed from the drawer navigation – “Saved Searches. Manage the list of Saved Searches by selecting “Edit” and then “Delete” or Swipe to delete from the list. Note: Matrix and Fusion clients can also find these searches on a separate tab. Viewing Listing Details Select a listing by tapping on a map marker, thumbnail, gallery or list item. When tapped, the details tab expands upwards with property photos and details. The listing count appears at the top and users can swipe listing to listing to view all results in a larger view. Details may be viewed on all devices in both portrait and landscape views. Details View Actions Within a property listing, a variety of actions are available on the details footer bar. On both iPhone and Android these actions will show and hide when scrolling upwards to provide more viewing area. *Note: Actions vary by MLS and some are available only with Agent login. Tapping on the star will save it to the Favorites. You can access all your favorites within the drawer navigation. Get Directions takes you outside the app to the native Maps (outside of the app) where you can get turn by turn directions. Close the native maps app and return to the mls app when finished. On iOS to return to the app you can double tap on the Home button to easily return to the MLS app or use a four finger swipe on iPad. Map will show that listing alone within the context of the map. Share* enables sending a link of this property via text message, email, Twitter and Facebook, *Home Assist/Messages *Available for select MLS. New in 2.4.8, Matrix Clients can share to a client’s cart. (See Matrix section below) Schedule* allows Agent’s to schedule a viewing. When logged in, users have the option to Schedule a Viewing with ShowingTime Mobile or Book A Showing. *Available for select MLS Calculate - Calculate Mortgage Payments or Affordability. The price of the listing will be pre-filled and get you started immediately. Note: You can also get to the calculator function within the drawer navigation. Contact will provide a popup with agent contact information for that listing. Add your own photo* Users can add a photo that will only appear only on the device. Manage these photos by going to “My Photos” within the drawer navigation. *Available for select MLS Contacts (Matrix clients only) New in 2.4.8 Matrix clients have the ability to Add and Edit within my Contacts.
